The Maharashtra Government approved the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana on 28 June 2024 to improve the economic independence of women in the state by providing them Rs.1,500 every month. It also aims to improve the health, nutrition, and role in the family woman.

Who is not eligible
Applicants will not be eligible for benefits under Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana if any of the following conditions apply:
- The combined annual family income exceeds ₹2,50,000.
- Any family member is an income taxpayer.
- Any family member is a regular or permanent employee of the Central or State Government, government undertakings, boards, local bodies, or is receiving a government pension after retirement.
- The beneficiary woman is receiving ₹1,500 per month or more under any other financial assistance scheme implemented by government departments.
- Any family member is a current or former Member of Parliament (MP) or Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).
- Any family member holds the position of Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Director, or Board Member in any government corporation, board, or undertaking at the Central or State level.
- The family owns a four-wheeler vehicle (excluding tractors) registered in the name of any family member.
Benefits
Under the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, eligible women will receive Rs. 1,500 per month, which amounts to Rs.18,000 annually through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the bank account of the women.
